EDID6506 Issues, Trends, Innovations and Research in ID, IT and DE
All professionals should be aware of what is happening in their field. I strive to give my best at all times. So this course was meaningful for me because it brought me in touch with current practices in the ID&T field.
Understand why below.

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.
Benjamin Franklin

I particularly took to this course because it exposed me to what was working and not working in the current instructional and design field. It put things into perspective and made me realise that every instructional strategy has a time and place. Since entering the education sector, I have always felt that in a fast-changing world, educators should ensure that we consider the emerging perspective on learning, teaching and technology. I was exposed to other theories that other theorists believe are significant contributors to a technological age and learning.
As we moved back to the classrooms after lockdowns, I developed a brief session to bring my colleagues up to speed on using Google classroom. Two of the nine teachers were familiar with Google Classroom, so we had to close the gap for the Unit to meet its goals. I was asked to lead a session since I was more familiar with the LMS. Before delivering, I presented a case for why we should use Google classroom. My presentation included but was not limited to:
-
it is being used more in Higher Education,
-
it is free,
-
it is customisable,
-
it is user-friendly,
-
it has readily available support forums and
-
it keeps evolving to reflect the current trends and demands in the education sector.

The presentation encourages the other teachers to incorporate more technology apps and current trends into their lessons.
