The quality of this ePortlio is a strong indication that I am familiar with creating websites, LMS and other media artefacts. Other courses, such as EDID6505 Systems Approach to Designing Instructional Material and Designing Learning and Performance Solutions, were instrumental in my development of some artefacts and websites. Mainly, in consulting on my first LMS development, I relied heavily on knowledge gained in EDID6510 Learning and Knowledge Management Systems and other research since COVID was upon us. However, I believe EDID6508 Developing Instructional Media improved my design game and set the foundation for all other work-related products.

To explain, this course left me well equipped with resources and skills that will enable me to use creative skills to tailor content for clients. Furthermore, as an associate of a multinational organisation, understanding the cultural disposition on creativity and ethical appropriation when it involved video remixes was important. Hence, the article Pedagogical Potential of Video Remix by Catherine Burwell was an exciting read for me. Here, scholars debate the increased use of text and video remixes in movies, social media, and even the classroom as a seemingly new mode of composition for young people (Burwell, 2019). But most importantly, the article attempts to understand the remix ethos and debates the use of remixes in the classrooms.

Navigating copyright laws and guides were quite unearthing. Understanding the levels and depths of where copyrights go was quite fascinating. The knowledge gained has kept me mindful of using certain media in my content development. As an entertainer, it was interesting to know how content I created can be protected and how I can use other persons’ content in the remix culture.
